Samantha Applegate, M.A., CCC-SLP
Samantha Applegate is the founder & owner of Bright Communicators, LLC.
Samantha received a B.A. in Speech & Hearing Science from THE Ohio State University (O-H!) and a M.A. in Communication Sciences & Disorders from the University of Cincinnati (Go, Bearcats!). She is a certified speech-language pathologist in Ohio and Texas.
Samantha's specialities include pediatric speech & language disorders, autism spectrum disorder, augmentative & alternative communication (AAC), complex communication disorders, and early intervention. Samantha has provided pediatric speech & language services across a variety of settings including: in-home, telepractice (virtual), school-based, and outpatient clinic.
Samantha began serving pediatrics throughout undergraduate and graduate school as a certified HCBS waiver & supported living independent provider through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. In graduate school she travelled to Managua, Nicaragua where she worked closely with an interdisciplinary team to use available resources to support communication through personally-tailored low-tech and high-tech AAC, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and eye-gaze. Samantha is a graduate of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) Program. As a student of The LEND Program, she engaged in clinical coursework that promoted family-centered care, cultural competency, and interdisciplinary evaluation/treatment of various developmental diagnoses.
