When two children are in the middle of being quarantined to their home during a pandemic with mom and dad, there are few things they look forward to from day to day. One thing my daughter, Taylor, anxiously anticipated each week was her time with Miss Sam. She helped in a way that made Taylor excited to spend the time together each week. Not only did Miss Sam help Taylor, but she did it while showing genuine interest in Taylor’s life and day to day activities. Our family will be forever grateful for Miss Sam and the outstanding progress Taylor has shown with her speech in just a few short months. The quality of Miss Sam’s work is top notch. We highly recommend her services! - The Roops
My son looks forward to "speech class" with Miss Sam every week because there is always a new game to play - he doesn't realize how hard he is working to learn the new sounds. She is always so patient with him and seems to know exactly what to do to reel him back in when he becomes overly excited. He has been seeing Miss Sam for 3 years, and his speech has improved tremendously during this time. She also was key in identifying the cause of his speech difficulties, which other professionals had missed. I highly recommend her! - Robin
My son saw Miss Sam for speech therapy for two years. She was one of his most favorite people, and to do this day, when we drive by the office she worked at, he still says, “There is Miss Sam’s house!”. In addition to a speech delay, we discovered shortly after he started sessions with Sam, that he also had a sensory processing disorder, so Sam decided to get creative and host his speech therapy sessions in a climbing room. She was very hands on, and discovered that movement was the key to opening up his speech. I can still picture her climbing up the slide and going down saying “Go, go, go!” My son went from having about 25 words when we started, to speaking full sentences by the time he graduated from speech therapy. We are forever grateful for the dedication and affection that Sam showed our son. She is an amazing SLP! -Jaime
Ms. Samantha Secrist is an exceptional speech and language therapist. She excels at connecting with my child at a level she can understand and effectively teaching her the required material to help improve her alliteration skills. She is patient, articulate and thorough as she teaches and facilitates all necessary material. Her professional methods provide fantastic results and any family using her services is sure to improve their situation and even excel in their advancement of speech. My family can not recommend Ms. Secrist’s services enough. - Blair
Samantha Secrist was the speech therapist for my 33 year old son who has great difficulty communicating. He looked forward to his weekly meetings with her and would prepare what he wanted to talk about for hours. She is very gifted at combining what looks like a casual conversation with working on challenging tasks, and I think it's this skill, combined with her great knowledge about speech therapy, that made the sessions so successful. We will miss her. - Amy
Sam was the third speech therapist we worked with to help our daughter improve her speech. Sam is the most effective therapist, who helped us achieve so much more than our previous therapists. She worked hard to help our daughter understand the way her mouth should be shaped, and where her tongue should be in her mouth when making certain sounds. I highly recommend Sam Secrist to anyone looking for a speech therapist! - Colleen
Samantha has been an integral part of my son Sam's intervention team since he began seeing her in 2017, and honestly became a valued family member due to the longevity of care and her wonderful caring demeanor. Sam is not the easiest client, but Samantha took all his behavioral issues in stride and built a fantastic rapport with him. He always looked forward to his time with her, which is so reassuring as a parent. He wanted to share his toys and school successes with her because he knew she would be proud and interested in all his accomplishments. Samantha was great at pivoting depending on Sam's moods and knowing what space he was in and how to accommodate that to give him the best attention possible - this is really special, especially in such a young provider. We'll miss her affable nature and her sense of humor and will definitely stay in touch as she builds her business! I would send anyone who needs intervention to her with no hesitation! - Lisa
Our son Everett just finished up speech therapy at CS&H. He will be turning 3 in October, and we are happy to say he has come so far that he no longer needs services at CS&H. We just want to let you know how happy we have been working with Sam Secrist. We had used another provider prior to coming to CS&H and working with Sam was a huge difference. We all got so much out of our sessions with Sam, especially Everett. She is fantastic at what she does, and we are so thankful for her help and guidance in Everett’s progress. - Kristy
